Armenian driving theory test: categories A, B, C

Armenia driving test changes 2026: new question lists

In 2026 Armenia's driving theory exam changed in several steps. Here is what changed and when each change took effect, according to the government decisions, the laws and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The changes by date

  • 4 July: the amended exam procedure took effect (Decision N 979-Ն). A theory pass is valid for two years (previously one year), an earlier express retake is possible for an additional fee, medical data normally come from the ARMED system, there is a rule for re-running an exam after a technical failure, and candidates are shown their results.
  • 6 July: a right to drive taken away by the Police can in some cases be restored without exams (see below).
  • 1 September: the single list was split by groups of categories: A, B, C and D, T.
  • 2 October: the new lists were published: 1,050 questions for A, B, C (11 of them new) and 1,380 for D, T (437 of them new).
  • From early November: the new questions may appear in tests, 30 days after publication.

For booking, fees and how the exam runs, see the driving theory exam guide.

Two lists, by category

Since 1 September 2026 the test is put together by group of categories. Of the law, traffic-rules and vehicle-fault questions, only those relevant to the group are included; the first-aid questions are shared.

  • A, B, C: for candidates for A, B, C, AM, A1, B1 and C1 (the questions also cover BE, CE and C1E vehicles): mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles, quadricycles, and cars and trucks without a trailer
  • D, T: for candidates for D, T and D1 (the questions also cover DE and D1E vehicles): buses and trolleybuses

Prepare with your category's list; the first-aid questions are the same in both.

The October lists

Both lists are published on the Road Police website in Armenian, Russian, English, Arabic and Persian, each in 10 groups. According to the Ministry, the pictures are clearer, translation errors reported earlier were corrected and semantic inaccuracies were corrected.

On the website, the group 4 files of the A, B, C list (in all five languages) are dated 5 October, and all 50 D, T files are dated 7 October, later than the publication. If you downloaded them earlier, download them again. Parapel's questions were taken on 11 October, after those dates.

When the new questions appear in tests

Under the procedure, new questions may be included in tests 30 days after publication. The Ministry announced that they will be included 30 days after publication. For the lists published on 2 October, that is around 1 November.

So if your exam is in November or later, prepare with the new October lists, not the old one.

Getting a right to drive back without exams

Since 6 July 2026, if the Police (not a court or a foreign authority) took away a right to drive issued in Armenia, it can be restored once without the qualification exams: apply within a year after the ground for the deprivation ceases and pay the state duty (50,000 AMD). A one-year probation period applies.

The second and later times, and when the right ended by a court or foreign authority's decision or for incapacity or health reasons, it is restored after the ground ceases only by passing the exams.

How to prepare

Parapel has both October lists, for categories A, B, C and D, T, in five languages and 10 topics. The 2022 list is kept in the archive for extra practice, but it is not the current list for the exam. The first three tickets of each list are free.
